Writers’ Funding

If you are a Scottish writer, there are a number of writers funding strands that might be worth trying for help with the cost of one of our courses.

  • If you live in Dumfries & Galloway, the ICC fund is dedicated to supporting the creative and professional development of artists & artisans in D&G. They have supported self-directed residencies and creative development workshops in the past so are a source well worth applying to. The craft skills we teach are transferable across disciplines too so are useful as professional development to artists and creators in any medium.
  • Creative Scotland Open Funding is highly competitive but might be worth a try for those who feel confident enough in the application process.
  • Publishing Scotland has links to potential sources of support for writers.
  • Funding Scotland -sometimes grants to fund creative activities come up. This one is very specific to certain towns but could cover short vocational training courses.
