Writing in the Dark 2025

Do you lie awake wondering what you’d do if a little girl in a white nightdress stepped out in front of your car in a dark country lane in the middle of a storm? For the third time, Megan is teaching a week of Gothic horror accompanied – as ever – by Jill the haunted Barbie. There will be a series of playful and practical writing workshops exploring setting, character, and the uncanny. Whether you want to heighten the suspense in your psychological thriller or confront your ghosts, this supportive tutored retreat will offer you the skills and tools to make your readers shiver.

The course runs from Monday October 20^th to Saturday 25^th and costs £795. The course price covers single-occupancy room, all meals and snacks, tea, coffee, and a glass of wine (or alcohol-free option) with dinner.
