Eating around a big table at Write South West Scotland Writers Retreat

Shhh, We’re Writing is a Monday to Saturday retreat aimed at helping you focus on your novel and whatever might be the thing that’s holding it up.

You will have three meals a day and all the snacks, without having to lift a finger. You can eat at your desk or at our long table with the other writers.

Each morning, there will be a creative writing session – led by Anstey – that uses writing exercises and short bursts of theory (that most of us have long forgotten) to help drive your project forward. You can choose to attend any, or all, of these sessions – or stay at your desk (each of our rooms has a desk and there are other writing spaces around the house and local environs) and work on your own in peace and quiet. Anstey will be available in the afternoons for plot walks through our stunning forest surroundings, or for writing chats over a cup of coffee and slice of cake.

This course is deliberately set in the week before the clocks go forward. It will be perfect writing weather, dark mornings and starlit evenings, and log fires lit around the house.
